Clayton went in today to have his port looked at again. He had some issues with the wound healing properly so the eventually had to stitch it up. But another stitch busted today and another doctor advised him to go ahead and take it out because of the risk of infection. She thought the port they put in was too large for how tight his skin is on his chest and that they should’ve put a smaller one in. We will go in tomorrow for wound care to learn how to take care of his old port incision and make sure it’s not infected, and will continue wound care for the next two weeks. They are sending it off for a culture to make sure there’s no infection present. We will also be getting a PICC line in today or Wednesday for him to do his second chemo treatment on Thursday of this week. They don’t believe they’ll put in another port, so he will have this PICC line for the rest of his treatments. Please be praying that the PICC line is an easy process, that there's no infection in his port site while we continue to do wound care, and for him to tolerate his second treatment on Thursday well!
