Clayton was scheduled to have another round of treatment today (his 3rd with the new protocol) but things didn’t go as planned today. Yesterday morning, we noticed Clayton’s port didn’t look right, so we texted his doctor and sent her a picture and she agreed. He went in early this morning for his labs and to see Dr. Shalaby but was unable to do treatment because of his port (they pushed that back another week) and instead he had to go over to the surgery center to have his port taken out. Dr. Baucom somehow got him on her schedule today and did the removal, and also put in another port on the other side of his chest (the left side). We are hopeful the tissue and placement will work better on this side and that the port will stay put for the remainder of his treatments! The surgery placement went well and he is home resting and finally getting to eat! He also was able to start on a steroid in addition to his antibiotic to help with controlling the rash. Please be praying for his port to cooperate (3rd times the charm, right?) and for the rash to respond to the steroid during another week off from chemo! It was an unexpected day, but we’re trusting that it’s exactly what God knew he would need at some point!

Natalie is in complete remission and Richard's has also shown significant digression. I wanted to share their strategies in case you haven't heard about it or tried it yet. They decided to throw eve…
