From Darby: After 10 days and 9 nights in the hospital, we are finally home. We had a bit of a setback while we were there and Clayton had to have his NG tube put back in on Sunday, which caused us to stay longer than expected. Recovery from surgery will take a full 4-6 weeks of taking it very slow in movement and in slowly bringing Claytons diet back to normal. We learned that during surgery, Dr. Baucom was able to remove the primary tumor in his colon along with 11-13 other lymph nodes that she was worried about, 3 of which came back to have cancer in them. After his surgery, Claytons CEA numbers went from 4.1 to 1.2!!! We are SO thankful that having his primary tumor gone has lowered his markers SO much! It’s definitely a massive blessing in disguise! Clayton will be off ALL his chemo until he is fully recovered from surgery to help his body heal. There is no way we could have made it through the last 10 days without help from so many. God continues to show his love for us and we are so grateful. Please be praying that the cancer would not grow while he is recovering from surgery, for him to regain strength and that he is able to recover fully from surgery! We are so thankful for each one of your prayers!
