From Darby: Monday, October 7th, Clayton went in for a new set of CT scans. This is the first set of scans we have done since his big PET scan in July. He will continue to have scans done every 3 months or so just to make sure the cancer isn’t growing larger or in new spots. We saw Dr. Shalaby today to go over those scans from Monday and they are still showing NO evidence of active cancer!!! The spots in his chest are still there, but they have not grown which is still a HUGE win! Dr. Shalaby was very happy with the way his scans looked and said there would be a chance that if after 2 more years of clear scans (and still continuing with his chemo infusion Avastin and his chemo pills every 3 weeks like he has been doing all along) that there may be a chance Clayton could stop chemo all together! There is obviously a lot that can happen in 2 years, but the thought of stopping chemo is both exciting and slightly nerve wracking to be honest! For now, we are just so thankful for the way God has been so gracious to us in answering the prayers for Clayton’s healing right now. Cancer is a long road, and every scan makes you hold your breath a little bit waiting for answers. So every bit of good news is worth celebrating! Thank you all for continuing to pray for Clayton’s healing and for our family!!
